KUALA LUMPUR (March 20): Nasdaq-listed Fortinet Inc has appointed Alex Loh as its country manager for Malaysia.

He will report to Peerapong Jongvibool, Fortinet's regional director for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.

In a statement today, Fortinet said Loh will lead sales, business development and channel operations to grow the company's business in the country.

"Loh, who has over two decades of experience in the information technology industry, has held senior sales, marketing and operations roles in prominent technology companies including VMware, Dimension Data and Datacraft," it added.

Fortinet said Loh will drive Fortinet's mission to deliver cybersecurity solutions to enterprises in Malaysia.

"The Malaysian cybersecurity market is expanding rapidly in this digital age where software-defined networks are becoming the norm, along with Bring Your Own Device and Internet of Things. Organisations undergoing digital transformation also need security transformation, and I am excited at the opportunity to help them defend their growing digital attack surface with broad, integrated and automated solutions based on Fortinet's Security Fabric architecture," said Loh.

"This is especially critical as Malaysia embarks on its digital economy transformation through key initiatives including Digital Free Trade Zone and big data and analytics regional hub," he added.
