KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): Airbus has increased the average list prices of its aircraft by 1% across its product line, effective Jan 1, 2017.

In a statement today, the France-based aircraft maker said this price increase has been calculated according to its standard escalation formula over the January 2016 to January 2017 period and takes into account materials and commodities prices.

Airbus commercial aircraft customers chief operating officer John Leahy said the new pricing affirms "the value of the company's modern, comprehensive and fuel-efficient aircraft family".

"The price increase also reflects our customers' satisfaction with the winning combination of performance, operating economics and passenger experience," he said.

Among all the increases, Airbus noted that the A321neo is now priced at US$127 million (RM566.48 million). In July last year, AirAsia Bhd ordered 100 of this aircraft, for a total of US$12.57 billion.
