KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 8): AirAsia Bhd’s logistics arm, RedBox, has been named as Shopee’s logistics partner for East Malaysia, with the company to provide logistics services to Sabah and Sarawak for the leading e-commerce platform in ASEAN and Taiwan.

Effective Dec 1, RedBox will start with direct delivery of goods from Shenzen to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

“We are delighted to enter into this collaboration with Shopee, one of Asia’s largest e-commerce players. Our appointment as their one-stop logistics partner for East Malaysia is a significant milestone for RedBox, and a testament to our strategy of offering a high-value product by tapping into AirAsia’s more-than 5,000 weekly flights to over 130 destinations.

“We look forward to extending this service for Shopee to Peninsular Malaysia and eventually, across the entire ASEAN region,” said RedBox chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Salleh.

Shopee regional managing director Ian Ho said RedBox was appointed for its extensive network between East Malaysia and China and the company’s full suite of logistics services.

“With AirAsia’s network via RedBox, we will soon be able to extend this partnership into Peninsular Malaysia and in time, across the region. We are confident that together with RedBox, we can continue to live up to our promise of fast delivery at low cost,” Ho said.

RedBox is a company under RedBeat Ventures Sdn Bhd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AirAsia Group Bhd. The company’s services include warehouse fulfilment, customs clearance, transportation and last-mile delivery services to e-commerce marketplaces, small-to-medium enterprises and consumers.
