KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): Low-cost carrier AsiaAsia Group Bhd is introducing a new route from Ipoh to Singapore, its first international service from the city.

In a statement today, the airline said the service will commence from Dec 2, 2018 and will fly four times a week.

AirAsia Malaysia chief executive officer Riad Asmat said this new route serves to underpin the airline's commitment to expand air connectivity to Ipoh.

This is the airline's second route from Perak, where carrier started its Ipoh-Johor Bahru service on Oct 1.

Riad said the new Ipoh-Singapore route is also part of the airline's plan to strengthen its Singapore network.

Tickets for the Ipoh-Singapore route are on sale from now until Nov 10, with fares starting from RM36 for members of AirAsia's BIG frequent flyer program, and is only valid for travel from Dec 2, 2018 to March 30, 2019.

Tickets can be bought through the airline's website airasia.com or through AirAsia's mobile app.
