KUALA LUMPUR (May 12): AIG Malaysia Insurance Bhd chief executive officer (CEO) Antony Lee has been re-elected as chairman of the board of Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) for 2022 to 2024.

Meanwhile, Ng Kok Kheng, CEO of Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd, was also re-elected as deputy chairman at PIAM's annual general meeting on Thursday (May 12).

"As PIAM continues to promote the growth and sustainability of the general insurance industry in Malaysia, I look forward to the invaluable contributions and strategic leadership of our board of directors," Lee said in a statement.

"With the unprecedented changes in the industry, PIAM is committed to driving a robust and responsive industry that caters to the evolving needs of customers and industry players," he added.

Lee and Ng were among the 10 members appointed to the board for a two-year term, effective April 28, 2022.

Seven CEOs of member companies were elected as non-independent directors.

There were Zainudin Ishak (Malaysian Reinsurance Bhd), Stephen B Crouch (Chubb Insurance Malaysia Bhd), Noor Muzir Mohamed Kassim (Pacific & Orient Insurance Co Bhd), Ng Hang Ming (Tokio Marine Insurans Bhd), Balasubramanian Nagarajan (Swiss Reinsurance Co Malaysia), Junior Cho (Zurich General Insurance Bhd) and Fukhairudin Mohd Yusof (Etiqa General Insurance Bhd).
