KUALA LUMPUR (June 20): AIA Bhd today announced three new senior leadership appointments to its executive committee and board of directors.

The insurer has appointed Andrew Loh as chief financial officer (CFO), Heng Zee Wang as chief marketing officer (CMO), while Eric Chang moves from his previous role as the CMO to become the chief executive officer (CEO) designate of AIA General Bhd, a new subsidiary of AIA pending issuance of its general insurance business license from Bank Negara Malaysia on July 1, 2018.

AIA CEO Anusha Thavarajah congratulated Loh, Heng and Chang on their appointments in a statement today, saying, “Each of them has demonstrated significant accomplishments in their previous roles in AIA and have been crucial in the growth of our company.”

As AIA’s new CFO, Loh will provide strategic financial management leadership and advice to ensure the long-term stability of the company. He will oversee finance, actuarial, procurement, as well as strategy and business planning.

Heng was previously the deputy general manager of finance and actuarial, will bring his experience in product marketing and agency development as the group’s CMO.  

He has the overall responsibility of developing and driving an integrated marketing strategy to bring to life AIA’s brand promise of helping people live healthier, longer and better lives.

Meanwhile, Chang will lead AIA General’s insurance business which comprises motor, personal accident and commercial insurance.

It will be distributed through the insurer’s network of life planners, telesales representatives, branches located nationwide and in the near future, directly online.

AIA also welcomed a new board of director, Shulamite N K Khoo as a non-independent non-executive director.

She has been a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development since 2013 and was previously a member of the International Advisory Panel of the Singapore Public Service Division from 2011 to 2017.
