KUALA LUMPUR: Civil servants who sabotage or leak information will be prosecuted if there is sufficient evidence, warned Attorney-General (AG) Tommy Thomas in a Malaysiakini report yesterday.

He noted how Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had told the media that he was concerned about civil servants leaking information to the previous government.

“If you ask any minister, they are facing the same problem as well. This is due to the civil servants being too long under the previous regime [Barisan Nasional].

“I am sure there may be some prosecution on this,” he reportedly said during a question-and- answer session at the International Malaysia Law Conference organised by the Malaysian Bar yesterday.

Thomas was also reported as saying that he has yet to receive the investigation papers on such leaks when questioned by reporters later as to when the prosecution would be made.
