KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 18): Based on corporate announcements and news flow today, stocks in focus on Tuesday (Sept 19) may include: Affin Holdings Bhd, Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd, T7 Global Bhd, Salcon Bhd, Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd, Jaycorp Bhd and Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd.

Affin Holdings Bhd said it has secured the approval of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to acquire a 7.07% stake in AXA Affin General Insurance Bhd from Felda Marketing Services Sdn Bhd, a unit of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd.

Affin said the proposed buy will raise its stake in AXA Affin, held via Affin Bank Bhd, from 37.07% to 44.14%.

In early August, Affin said that it would seek BNM’s approval to buy 8.4 million shares in Axa Affin for RM99.09 million cash.

T7 Global Bhd, formerly Tanjung Offshore Bhd, said its investment in Triangle Energy Global Ltd has paid off after it hit oil in the coastal Xanadu-1 well in the Perth Basin.

T7 Global had in June announced its acquisition of a 9.8% stake in the Australian-listed oil and gas exploration and production firm, Triangle Energy, for US$500,000 or RM2.14 million.

Separately, T7 Global said its wholly-owned unit Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd has bagged two contracts worth RM7.2 million from Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and the MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (UGW) joint-venture.

The first contract was awarded by Petronas' unit PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn Bhd for RM5 million, which is valid from August 2017 to December 2018, with a one-year option.

The second contract, worth RM2.2 million, is related to the MRT Line 2. It entails the refurbishment to reuse the existing steel storage tanks and the supply of new steel storage tanks and its associated works at the Chan Sow Lin and Bandar Malaysia North MRT launching site.

Salcon Bhd has bagged a RM13.27 million contract from Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd to replace the pipes in the Klang Valley area, covering Klang, Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Petaling Jaya.

The contract will commence in early October for 15 months, with an additional 18 months of defect liability period. It is expected to be completed by early January 2019.

Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd has won a contract worth RM291 million for construction works in Bangsar, which is related to a proposed residential development project known as "The Estate".

It said The Estate comprises two 46-storey towers of residential high-rise with a total of 328 condominium units and a three-storey podium for recreational facilities to be built on top of a four-and-a-half-level basement car park sited on 3.68 acres of freehold land.

The latest contract win brings its total outstanding orderbook to RM3.15 billion.

Jaycorp Bhd’s unit Jaycorp Engineering and Construction Sdn Bhd has secured a RM12.6mil contract to build the one-storey Azman Hashim Gallery and Auditorium at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in Kota Kinabalu.

The project was awarded via a public tender by Amcorp Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Fulcrum Capital Sdn Bhd, which is expected to be completed within 78 weeks, equivalent to 1.5 years from the date of site possession.

Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd is partnering a local firm affiliated with a Chinese education group in Hebei, China, to boost the enrolment of Chinese students at its international school in Negeri Sembilan.

The plan to boost student enrolment was inked by Matrix Global Education Sdn Bhd  inked an education joint collaboration agreement with Hengshui Yizhong Education Group Sdn Bhd, which is affiliated with Hengshui No 1 High School in Hebei, China.
