KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 26): Aemulus Holdings Bhd has proposed to undertake a bonus issue of up to 109.71 million shares on the basis of one bonus share for every four existing shares held to reward its shareholders.

The entitlement date for the proposed exercise will be determined later, it said.

In its filing with the exchange today, the ACE Market-listed company said the bonus issue is intended to reward its existing shareholders by increasing the number of Aemulus shares held by them, while also enhancing the marketability and trading liquidity of its shares.

It added that the proposed bonus issue will be wholly capitalised from the share premium account of the company, which stood at RM15.21 million as at Sept 30, 2017.

Upon completion of the exercise, Aemulus' share base will increase to 548.56 million shares from 438.85 million shares currently, while its share capital will remain unchanged at RM59.09 million.

It said the proposed issuance is subject to the approval of Bursa Malaysia, its shareholders and any other relevant authorities or parties if required.

The company expects to submit its application to the relevant authorities within two months from today and expects to complete the bonus issue by the first quarter of 2018.

Aemulus shares rose 0.5 sen or 0.81% to close at 62.5 sen today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM272.09 million.
