KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 17): Yang Chueh-Kuang has resigned from the executive director post at AE Multi Holdings Bhd, but is taking up the role of chief operating officer for the group, effective today.

Yang, a Taiwanese national, quit his previous post in order to focus more time on managing Amallion Enterprise (Thailand) Corp Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AE Multi, the group said in a stock exchange filing today.

Separately, the circuit board and electronic products manufacturer announced the appointment of Tan Sze Chong as a non-independent and non-executive director of the group.

Tan, 49, is currently the group managing director of TechnoDex Bhd, a provider of open-source business software and human resource management solutions.

Both AE Multi and TechnoDex share a common major shareholder, namely Ace Credit (M) Sdn Bhd.

Yang’s resignation as ED in AE Multi comes less than two months after Chan Choong Seing resigned from a similar position, citing other business commitments.

Choong Seing’s brother, Chang Choon Ming, was then appointed as a non-executive director.

Shares of AE Multi closed unchanged at 13.5 sen today, leaving the group with a market capitalisation of RM40.42 million.
