(Sept 26): Barisan Nasional has announced the formation of its Shadow Cabinet that comprises Members of Parliament from UMNO, MCA, MIC and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS).

The list of Shadow Ministers include former Tabung Haji chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim who was remanded for four days by the magistrate's court in Putrajaya today over alleged bribery and money laundering activities. Abdul Azeez was put in charge of Entreprenuer Development.

UMNO secretary-general Annuar Musa said in a statement today that BN has adopted a portfolio commitee system (JKP), which involves at least two MPs assigned to each portfolio.

"The committee will play a 'check-and-balance' role for each Ministry. It will serve as 'policy watch' and formulate alternative policies to compete with Pakatan Harapan," Annuar said.

Khairy Jamaluddin, who is the Shadow Finance Minister, has been tasked to formulate BN's alternative Budget.
