KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 20): AppAsia Bhd saw some 10.95 million shares, representing a 3.49% stake in the company, traded off-market today.

Bloomberg data showed the shares were traded in five blocks at prices between 25 sen and 30 sen per share, a discount of between 13.04% and 27.54% to its last publicly traded price, for RM3.08 million in total.

AppAsia's filing with Bursa Malaysia showed that two of its directors — Ng Kok Wah and Wong Ngai Peow — were involved in parts of the off-market deals today, having sold 1.1 million shares and 4 million shares respectively.

However, the buyer or buyers of the shares were not revealed. The sale left Ng with just 400,000 shares or a 0.127% stake, and Wong with 2.9 million shares or 0.925%.

For its six months ended June 30, 2017 (6MFY17), AppAsia's net loss narrowed to RM2.02 million from RM4.35 million in the same period last year, as revenue more than tripled to RM9.22 million from RM2.45 million.

The mobile applications, digital contents and e-commerce solutions provider said the increase in revenue was mainly due to its business-to-business marketplace b2b.appasia.my, which was fully launched in 2QFY17.

AppAsia’s counter closed unchanged at 34.5 sen today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM108.27 million.
